About Jonna Rawa (Jowar Rava)

The same sorghum as our jonna powder, milled coarse instead of fine. That coarser grain is what keeps upma separate rather than pasty.

It is used for jonna upma, uppudu pindi and similar traditional preparations.

మా జొన్న పిండికి వాడే జొన్నలే, కానీ మెత్తగా కాకుండా రవ్వగా ఆడించినవి. ఈ కరకుదనం వల్లే ఉప్మా ముద్దగా కాకుండా గింజ గింజ విడిగా వస్తుంది. జొన్న ఉప్మా, ఉప్పుడు పిండి వంటి సాంప్రదాయ వంటలకు వాడతారు.
